If you have never heard of S.K.I.P. then let us introduce ourselves. 

We are parents and carers of children with additional support needs in East Lothian and have been running for over 30 years formerly as “East Lothian Association of Parents of Special Needs Children”. Through our own experiences with the additional support needs education system, financial support agencies and information/support networks throughout Scotland, we are able to offer practical advice on subjects such as filling out forms, where to get help or equipment needed for your child and who to speak to with regard to schooling.

We also offer a chance to meet other families who have children with additional support needs in East Lothian.  We arrange and fund family days out in the summer holidays and have our annual Christmas party every year which has grown hugely over the years.

We know that bringing up a child with additional support needs is both challenging and rewarding for ALL THE FAMILY.  Support and friendship from other families who may have been through the same difficulties or faced the same challenges can be invaluable when things are tough and you feel you are on your own.
